Passenger numbers rose 16 per cent year-on-year to 5.0 million
Abu Dhabi: Etihad Airways has reported its highest-ever first-quarter performance in both financial results and customer satisfaction, building on last year’s momentum with further notable improvements across revenue, operational efficiency, and fleet expansion.
The Abu Dhabi-based carrier posted a profit after tax of Dh685 million ($187 million) in Q1 2025 - a 30 per cent increase compared to the same period last year, driven by robust passenger demand and operational efficiencies.
Total revenue rose 15 per cent year-on-year, fueled by solid performance in both the passenger and cargo business.
Etihad carried 5 million passengers in Q1 2025, marking a 16 per cent increase from Q1 2024. Over the past 12 months, nearly 20 million guests flew with the airline, making Etihad the fastest-growing carrier in the region.
Customer satisfaction also reached a record high in Q1 2025, with a 20 per cent year-on-year improvement. Gains were recorded across key touchpoints, including check-in, boarding, inflight service, food and beverage, Wi-Fi, and the updated website and mobile app. The quarter also saw the launch of new lounge and inflight menus, alongside upgraded service standards.
