Dubai: Aster DM Healthcare, a leading integrated health care services provider in GCC, has announced that it has entered into a partnership agreement with a leading university hospital in Nigeria.
Aimed at addressing the need gaps in the Nigerian health care sector, the partnership with Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti (ABUAD) will see Aster DM Healthcare setting up centres of excellence across specialities.
There will also be a telemedicine unit managed by Aster DM Healthcare’s internationally certified specialists, the majority of whom are from Aster’s international network of hospitals.
The announcement came against a wider backdrop of Nigeria scoring poorly among UN member states, attaining a rank of 187th from a total of 191 countries.

Keeping in mind the poor doctor-patient ratio in Nigeria, Aster DM Healthcare has also set up a telemedicine unit at ABUAD that essentially provides services such as tele-consulting, tele-diagnosis and tele-management, enabling patients to seek expert advice and virtual treatment from Aster’s specialists from across the world.
