ABU DHABI: Baby Dutta, a 51-year-old widow who came to the UAE to work so her only son could get a college education, needs help as she has been paralysed. The only breadwinner of her family, Baby, a babysitter, suffered a stroke on April 19, following which she went into a coma.
Although she came out of the coma after 45 days, her movements remain restricted as she is paralysed on the right side. Her sister Sankari Dutta, a yoga instructor, said Baby requires physiotherapy for which she does not have the money. “We come from a financially weak family and I am her only relative here.”
She said Baby was discharged from an Abu Dhabi hospital on June 13. “Luckily, her medical bills were covered by insurance. But she needs Dh3,000 a month for physiotherapy. Only a miracle can help her recover.”
