Abu Dhabi: Easy access and a host of mutli-specialty services are among the main pluses of the new Nation Hospital on Hazza Bin Zayed Street in Abu Dhabi.

The hospital, which had a soft opening in August, will be officially launched early next year, making it the first hospital in the region to be affiliated with the Medical University of Vienna (MUV).

“MUV is one of Europe’s most prominent institutions for medical training, education and research. Through our affiliation with them, we take pride in contributing to the UAE’s healthcare sector and supporting the realisation of Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030,” said Dr Hayder Al Zubaidy, CEO of the hospital.

Dr Al Zubaidy said, “We will deliver compassionate, patient-centric care of the highest quality and provide patients with access to innovative forms of treatment.”

Srinivas Achar, CFO of the hospital, said, “We are located in the heart of the city to provide easy accessibility to all.”

Patients first

The 144-bed hospital is anchored by four centres of excellence.

The centres include The Mother and Child Centre which covers gynaecology, obstetrics, labour and delivery and pediatrics; the Diabetes Centre which offers interdisciplinary treatment involving cardiology, nephrology, haemodialysis, neurology, urology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics and general surgery; the Orthopaedics Centre which provides treatment for chronic bone and joint diseases, sport injuries, infections and congenital mutations and malformations; and Ophthalmology which covers a range of eye disorders and diseases.
