UAE stands behind Saudi action to protect Yemen border

Abu Dhabi: Saudi Arabia has hit back hard at Yemeni insurgents who breached the kingdom’s border.

Saudi warplanes and artillery were reported in action for a third day in the border area of Jabal Dukhan, in efforts to dislodge Yemeni rebels accused of infiltrating across the undemarcated frontier.

The UAE last night said it will stand with Saudi Arabia in defending its land.

Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed al Nahyan, Foreign Minister said that the UAE’s stand with Saudi Arabia in defending its sovereign land against any external aggression stems from the brotherly relations that bind the two countries.

He described the Saudi moves as acts of defence to preserve the country’s sovereignty and stability.

Shaikh Abdullah emphasized that whatever affects Saudi security also affects the security of the UAE, and that the UAE stands with all firmness with Saudi Arabia.
