Rains often cause flooding in Egypt every year, especially in areas with poor infrastructure
Cairo: At least 12 people were killed in heavy rains and flooding in parts of Egypt on Friday, the health ministry said.
The toll included six people who died when a bus overturned on a flooded road in the southern province of Sohag.
Four people died in the east’s Red Sea province, the ministry said in a statement, without elaborating.
Rains in autumn and winter cause flooding in Egypt, leaving areas with poor infrastructure the worst affected, almost every year.
