Palestinian teen dies from Israeli bullet
‘Tutu’ bullet is banned under international law but occupation forces continue to use it
Ramallah: A Palestinian teenager lost his life on Wednesday after succumbing to injuries sustained after he was struck in the chest with an Israeli ‘tutu’ bullet last week.
The bullet, a “0.22” caliber ammunition, is banned under international law. In 2001, it was outlawed by anIsraeli court, however, Israeli occupation soldiers continue to use it against Palestinians.
Last week, Israeli occupation forces raided the Al Jalazoun Refugee Camp , where 18-year-old Ali Mahmoud Safi was shot by the soldiers.
Israeli raids are common in West Bank cities, however, raids on refugee camps are less frequent. When Israeli troops do raid, they do so in large numbers and troops often fire live ammunition into crowds.
Safi will be buried in the Martyrs’ Cemetery in his camp and a funeral prayer was to take place after Al Duhr prayers on Thursday.
