New bill to criminalise actions of Al Murabiteen

Israeli regime trying to turn political conflict into a religious one

Ramallah: According to the Israeli daily Haaretz, the Israeli military are pushing for a bill to criminalise the actions of the Al Murabiteen (defenders of Al Haram Al Sharif). The Al Murabiteen have been crucial in guarding the Muslim holy site from intruding right wing Jewish worshippers whose actions have turned an already tense situation into an explosive one. Observers said that Israelis are trying to turn a political conflict into a religious one with its incitement at Al Haram Al Sharif. An attack last week on a Jewish synagogue which left five worshippers dead was seen as a retaliatory move to continued Israeli transgressions in Occupied Jerusalem.

“The bill is a Class A piece of racist legislation,” Shaikh Najeh Bakeerat, the former head of Al Haram Al Sharif, told Gulf News.

“The bill will fail to curb the determination of the Al Murabiteen to defend Al Haram Al Sharif,” he added.
