The army statement did not specify the location of the accident, which happened as the jet took off.
In 2015, a Jordanian pilot and an Iraqi trainee were killed when a light training aircraft — a T67 Firefly — crashed during a routine military exercise.
In 2013, another Firefly crashed in the north of the kingdom because of technical problems, killing the pilot and a trainee.
Jordan is part of the US-led coalition of Arab and Western countries carrying out air strikes against Daesh, which controls parts of Iraq and neighbouring Syria.
