Gaza City: Israeli air strikes in Gaza killed four children on Thursday, medics said, hours after a temporary humanitarian ceasefire ended.

The first strike on a house in the Sabra neighbourhood of Gaza City killed “at least three children from the same family” — brothers Jihad and Wassim Shuheiber, aged 8 and 7 respectively, and their 10-year-old cousin Fulla, emergency services spokesman Ashraf Al Qudra told AFP.

Another strike shortly afterwards in the southern city of Khan Yunis killed four-year-old girl Rahaf Al Jubur.

A 29-year-old man, Hamza Al Abdullah, was killed in another air strike near Khan Yunis.

Their deaths brought the toll in Gaza in a 10-day Israeli assault on Gaza to 237, with at least 1,770 wounded, Al Qudra said.

One Israeli has been killed by cross-border fire.
