Investigators found that suspect enlisted the help of a friend to carry out the murder
Dubai: A young Egyptian man was arrested after confessing to killing his father and setting his body on fire in the city of Sinnbillawin, Dakahlia Governorate, in what authorities described as a gruesome crime fuelled by a family dispute.
Security forces launched an investigation after receiving reports of a charred body found in an agricultural field between the villages of Qarqira and Al Sha’ala.
According to local media, forensic examination confirmed the body belonged to Ezzat Sh. A., a man in his fifties from the village of Meet Ghorab.
Authorities determined that the victim’s own son was behind the killing, reportedly following an argument over the sale of livestock from their family farm.
Investigators found that the suspect enlisted the help of a friend to carry out the murder. The two men disposed of the body in a remote field before setting it on fire in an attempt to erase evidence.
The police quickly apprehended the suspect, who later confessed to the crime during questioning.
