Bahrain's rescue efforts hampered by conflict
Manama: Seven Bahraini families about twenty in total are still stuck in southern Lebanon, Waheed Sayar, Bahraini Ambassador in Damascus, said.
He said those families were living in remote areas and the Bahraini rescue team are unable to reach them.
The ambassador assured that rescue operations would continue until the last Bahraini is brought to safety.
"We apologise for the delay in our rescue operation as it is very difficult to operate there because of the attacks," Sayar said.
The Kingdom had allocated a shelter in Beirut to receive Bahrainis from all over Lebanon and then take them to Syria.
Sayar praised the efforts of the Ministry of Interior for sending a team to assist Bahrainis in their journey to Syria.
"Those in good condition could leave immediately to Bahrain, while those with injuries or other health and emotional problems are being provided with assistance in Syria before sending them back home," the ambassador said.
