The Ministry urged the public to rely on official sources and avoid unverified claims
Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has temporarily closed two food factories and multiple branches of a food company following reports of suspected food poisoning, Saudi Gazette reported.
In a statement on Sunday, the ministry said its field teams, in coordination with municipal offices across several regions, responded immediately to the alerts and initiated official procedures to protect public health.
According to the report, most affected individuals have recovered, while others remain in stable condition under medical care.
Authorities, in conjunction with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), have launched an investigation. Precautionary closures of the company’s production and retail sites will remain in effect until all verification and testing are completed.
The ministry reiterated its dedication to consumer safety and pledged to take necessary steps with relevant agencies. It also advised the public to rely on official sources for information and refrain from spreading unverified claims.
