Dubai: Health Authorities in Medina, in coordination with security agencies, arrested a Saudi woman for allegedly treating patients with the illegal “energy and sound” therapies, local media reported

Muayyad Abu Anaq, spokesman of the Health Affairs in Medina region, said the suspect was running a clinic in a residential villa to practice the prohibited activity.

“The Health Affairs authorities received tip off about the woman practicing energy and voice therapies in violation of the Ministry of Health regulations and instructions. Authorities arrested the woman in coordination with the Public Prosecution and Public Security officials,” he said.

A team from the Health Affairs and other agencies raided the villa where they found the woman practicing the prohibited activity. They also found tools to make certain sounds, a medical bed for clinical examination, and different kinds of oils. The woman has been handed over to the security authorities.

Abu Anaq called on all members of society not to approach any illegal and unauthorized doctors or those claiming treatment and promoting them or unreliable websites. He urged the public to inform the authorities about such illegal practices.
