Dubai: In a world brimming with colors and shapes, Saudi artist Hazam Al Shahrani stands out as a rising star in the realm of contemporary art.

From an early age, he wielded his brush as a medium of self-expression, navigating life’s daily pressures with the strokes of his creativity. Despite the challenges of working as a security guard, Al Shahrani has transformed his free time into a canvas, producing vibrant works that pulse with emotion.

“I started practicing art as a child—it was a true talent that accompanied me from an early age,” Al Shahrani said. “My passion for painting gave me the drive to continue, allowing me to explore different artistic schools and experiment with multiple styles that align with the themes of my work.”

For Al Shahrani, art is as much about technique as it is about inspiration. He prefers using pencils and charcoal, tools that grant him the precision to convey his ideas with depth and nuance. “Many artists have influenced my work,” he said. “Each one of them has contributed something new to my journey.”

One might assume that his job as a security guard would hinder his artistic pursuits, but Al Shahrani sees it differently. “On the contrary, my job has actually helped me continue painting and make the most of my free time,” he said. “I have even participated in art exhibitions, which was a wonderful experience, allowing me to grow alongside other artists.”

Maintaining a balance between work and creative passion, he insists, has been seamless. “I find time easily between my job and painting,” he said. “It’s a beautiful experience, and I don’t face any difficulties. Art provides me with psychological relief—it’s my way of producing, problem-solving, and unwinding from work-related stress.”

Looking ahead, Al-Shahrani is working on establishing a personal studio to further hone his craft. “I am a visual artist, and I am committed to developing my skills,” he said. His artistic vision extends beyond personal growth—he aims to inspire others. “Through my art, I seek to encourage self-motivation, build confidence, and refine talents to achieve one’s goals.”
