Dubai: Prominent Saudi model “Model Roz” has kicked up a social media storm by appealing to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to help resolve her case that has been pending before the judiciary for nearly a year.
The 28-year-old Roz posted a series of tweets stressing that like any Saudi woman, who do not hold another nationality, she moved the court to demand her most basic legal right in 2020, which is “divorce”, adding that she is still waiting for the judge to consider her case, 10 months on.
In another tweet, the Saudi fashionista appealed to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, believing that he wouldn’t accept injustice to any Saudi woman who demands her rights under his reign.
Roz also wrote "in the presence of the Saudi Crown Prince, rights of the oppressed women will not be lost".
Social media users were surprised by Roz’s tweets and asked her to clarify what’s going on and give more details.
Meanwhile, a number of social media users referred to the incident when Roz and her estranged husband, Saudi businessman Muhammad Al Hamoud, had a public showdown a few months ago.
At the time, Muhammad Al Hamoud challenegd Roz to give up her American citizenship which he helped her get it, according to him.
He wrote on Snapchat: ’'I have experienced injustice and ingratitude from someone I created... I emigrated and used all my money to make her happy, and at the end a foreigner gets her easily.’'
Al Hamoud stressed that he would not leave Roz to the foreigner, saying: "No and a thousand times no, I will not be a bridge for him to get her."
Al Hamoud had revealed, in a previous post on Snapchat, that he was living with Roz in the US in order to help her make her dreams come true, adding that their life was happy until she met a person named Nicholas, who made her personality change to become more nervous and distracted.
