Event to showcase Saudi heritage

Cairo: Saudi Arabia is set to launch a vibrant cultural festival in Qatar this week, offering Qataris and expatriates a glimpse into the kingdom's rich heritage amid strong bilateral ties.
Organised by the Saudi Ministry of Culture, the event will run from February 18 to 21 in Doha, featuring diverse cultural activities that highlight Saudi Arabia’s multifaceted traditions.
Several government bodies will participate in the event, officially named Saudi Cultural Week, including the Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, Theatre and Performing Arts Commission, Heritage Commission, Music Commission, Film Commission, Fashion Commission, and Culinary Arts Commission.
A key highlight will be the international debut of the Saudi Year of the Handicrafts Initiative. A dedicated pavilion will emphasize the significance of handicrafts, with skilled artisans demonstrating their craft and engaging with visitors. Interactive screens will further showcase various Saudi handicrafts and their unique characteristics.
The Culinary Arts Commission will host live cooking demonstrations, with Saudi chefs preparing popular traditional dishes. Meanwhile, the Coffee Expert Tent will present authentic Saudi coffee hospitality, accompanied by premium dates. The Beverages Corner will feature an assortment of traditional hot and cold Saudi drinks.
This festival follows Qatar’s participation as the Guest of Honour at the Riyadh International Book Fair last September, Saudi Arabia’s largest literary event.
