Dubai: Saudi security forces have successfully dismantled three criminal networks involved in drug smuggling and trafficking across the Asir, Jazan, and Al Sharqiyah regions, an official source at the Ministry of Interior confirmed.

Acting on intelligence gathered by the relevant authorities, the networks were found to be smuggling narcotics into the Kingdom, distributing them in multiple regions, and laundering the proceeds.

A total of 19 people linked to these illegal activities were arrested, including five from the Ministry of Interior, seven from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, and three from the Ministry of Defence.

The suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution following the completion of legal procedures.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to combating drug-related crimes, stressing that security forces remain vigilant against any attempts to undermine the Kingdom’s stability or endanger its citizens and residents.
