Cairo: Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz had made a phone call to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reviewed “historic, close” ties between the two “friendly” countries, the Saudi news agency SPA has reported.
During the Tuesday call, they also discussed joint opportunities to develop relations between the two countries within the Saudi-Indian strategic partnership council, SPA added.
Last year, Saudi Arabia and India announced setting up a strategic partnership council during a visit by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to New Delhi. Several cooperation pacts in investment, energy and military domains were sealed during the trip.
There are around 2.5 million Indians in Saudi Arabia.
