Dubai: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority has opened two helipads at the Grand Mosque in Mecca to accelerate emergency medical evacuations, thereby enhancing healthcare services for pilgrims and Umrah performers in preparation for the Hajj season, according to a report by SPA.

These helipads will facilitate the swift transfer of critical cases to hospitals in Mecca and Jeddah.

Furthermore, the emergency hospital at the Grand Mosque is equipped with intensive care units, medical laboratories, radiology services, an in-house pharmacy, and isolation units for infectious diseases.
