Abu Dhabi: Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority will launch in early January Oaisis Riyadh, a three-month event featuring a variety of outdoor recreational activities, including concerts and sports games, local media reported.

The event is part of the “entertainment ideas” initiative launched by Turki Al Sheikh, chairman of General Entertainment Authority, last week.

It is the first of the 20 ideas that Al Sheikh promised to support, as it will be held on a large area in one of the wild areas north of Riyadh, with care to observe the health requirements to stem the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Visitors to the event will have a date with an atmosphere of fun through a variety of outdoor recreational activities, including concerts, sports games, and activities suitable for various visitors, with the presence of a group of the most famous international restaurants, organisers said.

The winter event is characterised by modern entertainment designs according to the best international experiences, and will include pavilions to display and sell a range of unique products that match the event’s theme.

The event comes in cooperation with Seven Experience and Rotana audio and video company.

Al Sheikh launched on Wednesday the “Ideas of Entertainment” initiative, in which he called on all those interested in entertainment to share their ideas and suggestions with the ability to implement them, and to be distinctive and qualitative and not duplicated, by sending a video clip to Email (idea@gea.gov.sa), announcing an award for the top 20 ideas.
