Only Hajj workers, residents of Mecca, and holders of valid Hajj permits will be allowed
Dubai: Starting Tuesday, Saudi citizens, residents, GCC citizens and holders of other visa types inside the Kingdom will no longer be able to obtain Umrah permits through the Nusuk platform, as Saudi Arabia moves to prepare for the upcoming Hajj season.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that the suspension will begin on April 29, 2025 (1 Dhul-Qa'dah 1446 AH), and will continue until June 10, 2025 (14 Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH).
The measure is intended to ensure the smooth organisation of Hajj and to protect the safety of pilgrims amid the expected large influx of worshippers.
Authorities also confirmed that, beginning April 23, access to Mecca required an official permit issued through the Absher or Muqeem platforms.
Only Hajj workers, residents of Mecca, and holders of valid Hajj permits will be allowed entry. Starting April 29, no one without a Hajj visa will be permitted to enter or remain in the city. Violators, the ministry warned, will be subject to legal penalties.
This year’s Hajj season is expected to commence around June 6, 2025, depending on the moon sighting.
This year, Saudi Arabia offers six officially authorized Hajj packages to pilgrims from over 50 countries, catering to diverse budgets and service needs.
