Dubai: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has urged pilgrims to inspect their luggage before traveling to ensure compliance with regulations and avoid carrying prohibited items, helping to prevent disruptions during their Umrah journey.

In a public advisory, the ministry outlined a list of banned items, including fireworks, counterfeit currency, unregistered medications, surveillance devices, radar detectors, stun guns, laser pens, and hidden cameras.

Pilgrims are encouraged to review the full list of prohibited items on the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) website (ZATCA.GOV.SA) to ensure a smooth and secure journey.

The ministry also issued guidelines for luggage specifications for air travelers heading to the Grand Mosque, urging them to avoid non-standard baggage.

Passengers are advised not to bring unstructured or circular bags, as they may not fit properly in overhead compartments, and to refrain from using fabric luggage carriers that could complicate handling. Excessively heavy luggage, oversized suitcases, and bags with long straps or excessive buckles should also be avoided, as they can cause inconvenience during transport.

The ministry emphasized the importance of checking with airlines before departure to confirm baggage policies and prevent any travel delays.
