Cairo: Saudi police have arrested a man for having stolen a car with a child inside it in the capital Riyadh, a security official said.

The suspect is a Saudi man in his 30s, accused of stealing the car with the eight-year-old child inside while the parked vehicle was revving up in a Riyadh district, spokesman for the local police Major Khalid Al Karidis added.

“The child was let out of the car without suffering harm,” he said.

The car was later retrieved and the suspect arrested. He is in custody and referred to public prosecution, the official added.
