Cairo: A distribution facility operated by Saudi Arabia’s oil giant Aramco has resumed full operation in the south-western region of Jizan after a technical problem, Saudi media reported.

The breakdown occurred Wednesday, resulting in a shortage of some oil products at petrol stations in the region. Aramco’s maintenance teams have fixed the glitch.

“Works of loading oil derivatives for the station’s customers have resumed after the technical problem was repaired,” the company said. The cause of the breakdown was not given.

Last month, the Saudi Energy Ministry said a fire had erupted at an oil distribution facility in Jizan as a result of a projectile attack unleashed by Iran-aligned Al Houthi militia in neighbouring Yemen.
