Abu Dhabi: The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) confirmed on Wednesday that it had obtained approval from its counterpart in Saudi Arabia to use the Kingdom's airspace for outbound and inbound flights to and from the UAE to all countries. Saudi Arabia has agreed to allow UAE flights over its airspace to all countries, the kingdom's official SPA news service reported Wednesday.

The Saudi step comes two days after the first Israeli direct commercial flight landed in the UAE carrying a joint Israeli US and Israeli delegation after the UAE and Israel declared a peace treaty.
