Cairo: Saudi police have arrested two Egyptians for allegedly swindling expatriates of their money, a security official has said.

Both suspects in their 40s and 50s were arrested in the central Saudi region of Al Qassim for their involvement in defrauding migrant workers, spokesman for local police Lt.Col. Badr Al Suhaibani added.

Some SR23,000 was found in the suspects’ possession, he said.

“They were arrested and legal procedures were taken against them to refer them to the public prosecution,” the official said without further details.

Foreigners make up about 10.5 million of Saudi Arabia’s total population of 34.8 million.
