Cairo: Health authorities in the Saudi capital Riyadh have maximised readiness of hospitals in the city to treat potential patients of respiratory disorders due to recent erratic weather, according to a health official.

Dr Ali bin Sulaiman Al Juma, an assistant director-general of medical services, said that hospitals in the city have been readied to take in emergency cases of respiratory problems as a result of dust storms that have hit the region of Riyadh, Okaz newspaper reported.

The Health Ministry has advised asthma sufferers to cover the head, the mouth and the nose on having to go outdoors, and to use a bronchodilation atomizer.

The asthma patients have also been advised to head to the nearest emergency centre in case of suffering worse symptoms including loss of ability to breathe or talk.
