Dubai: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Haj and Umrah has increased the capacity of the Grand Mosque to 50,000 pilgrims and 100,000 worshippers a day during Ramadan, which will start next week, local media said on Tuesday.
Permits for Umrah and visits to the Grand Mosque during Ramadan will be issued only to those who have been vaccinated against coronavirus or immunized after recovery from the COVID-19 infection.
The permits can be obtained through the Eatmarna and Tawakkalna apps only.
The permits will be issued effective from Ramadan 1 for vaccinated and immunized persons as shown in the Tawakkalna application, including those who received the two doses of the vaccine, those who have spent 14 days after getting the first jab, or those who have already recovered from coronavirus.
