Manama: The five ministers appointed to the Saudi government last week were sworn in on Monday.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at Al Yamamah Palace ahead of the weekly cabinet session haired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.

Minister of Economy and Planning Adel Bin Mohammad Faqih, Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Bin Ahmad Al Jubeir, Minister of State and Cabinet’s Member Khalid Bin Abdul Rahman Al Eisa, Minister of Labour Mufarrej Bin Sa’ad Al Haqbani, and Minister of Health Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Faleh took the oath before King Salman

“I swear by Allah Almighty to be loyal to my religion, King and country, not to divulge a state secret, to preserve the nation’s interests and regulations, and perform my duties with honesty, integrity and sincerity,” the ministers pledged, Saudi press Agency (SPA) reported.

The ministers were appointed as part of a cabinet reshuffle by King Salman on Wednesday.

The appointments included naming Mohammad Bin Nayef as Crown Prince and Mohammad Bin Salman as Deputy Crown Prince.

The nominations paved the way for a new generation of Al Saud princes – the grandsons of the kingdom founder King Abdul Aziz - to the highest political positions in the country.

King Salman became ruler of Saudi Arabia on January 23 upon the death of King Abdullah.
