Among those are Imam Mohammed bin Saud, founder of the first Saudi state

Dubai: King Salman bin Abdulaziz has ordered that 15 prominent squares in Riyadh be named after the country's historical imams and modern kings.
The decision comes following a proposal from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and coincides with the Kingdom’s annual Founding Day celebrations on February 22.
The initiative aims to honour key historical figures who played significant roles in establishing, unifying and developing the Saudi state over the past three centuries.
Among those are Imam Mohammed bin Saud, founder of the first Saudi state, and several subsequent historical imams including Abdulaziz bin Mohammed, Saud bin Abdulaziz, Abdullah bin Saud, Turki bin Abdullah, Faisal bin Turki, Abdullah bin Faisal, and Abdulrahman bin Faisal.
In addition, squares will bear the names of modern Saudi kings who shaped the Kingdom’s contemporary era: King Abdulaziz, King Saud, King Faisal, King Khalid, King Fahd, King Abdullah and King Salman himself.
The selected squares are strategically located along major roads in Riyadh, ensuring prominent visibility as part of the nation’s effort to highlight its historical identity and national heritage.
