Inspired by drama, seven-year-old kills himself

Manama: A seven-year-old Saudi boy, inspired by dramatic scenes he watched on television, hanged himself at home, his family said.

Security officers in Madinah, around 180km from the Red Sea coast, ruled out criminal action or foul play, local Arabic daily Al Riyadh reported on Saturday.

A forensic doctor confirmed that the boy showed no signs of being attacked, Colonel Fahd Bin Amer Al Ganem, the spokesman for the Madinah police, said.

The victim’s sister said that her brother wanted to simulate some of the dramatic scenes he watched, the daily said.
