Dubai: For years, they dreamed of this moment, not through images, but through prayers, stories, and faith. When a blind Jordanian couple finally arrived at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, they couldn’t see the Kaaba with their eyes, but they felt its presence with every heartbeat.

Holding hands, they stood together in awe and gratitude, fulfilling a wish they had carried quietly for a lifetime. What they lacked in sight, they made up for in devotion, and in that sacred space, their dream became touchable, real.

Standing before the Kaaba, the husband described the moment with quiet reverence. “Before arriving, I was filled with longing to see it,” he told Saudi television channel Al Ekhbariya. “But when I reached it, I felt its divine majesty and spiritual grandeur. It was beyond words, a moment alive with faith and the sacred history of this holy house.”

His wife, equally moved, described the experience with quiet joy: “I felt indescribable happiness when I arrived in Mecca. I truly believe God paved the way for us to perform this great act of worship.”

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made visible efforts in recent years to ensure that pilgrims of all abilities and backgrounds can perform their rituals with dignity and ease. So far, more than 1.47 million pilgrims have arrived from abroad, according to Major General Dr. Saleh Al Murabba, Director General of Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports.

The “Mecca Route” initiative, which now serves eight countries through 12 hubs, has further streamlined the experience, with multilingual staff and advanced technologies deployed at entry points to ease the journey for all.
