Police seized 322 SIM cards and a fingerprint reader from the accused
Abu Dhabi: The Saudi cybercrime police have arrested four men in their 30s and 40s for allegedly setting up an illegal shop in Riyadh dealing in SIM cards, using forged identity cards, Major Khaled Al Kreidis, assistant spokesman for Riyadh police, said.
He said the accused — a Saudi, a Filipino and two Bangladeshis – allegedly registered the SIM cards in the name of citizens and residents without their knowledge.
The police seized from their possession 322 SIM cards belonging to a number of telecom companies and a fingerprint reader.
“Seized also are a data reader device, 15 mobile phones, printed cutouts for unknown fingerprints, and SR13,907,” Major Al Kreidis said.
The men were referred to the Public Prosecution, pending further investigation and trial, police said.
