Riyadh: In a bid to develop the performance of healthcare practitioners and enrich the quality of their services, the Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group (HMG) is organising a test for MRCPI in Internal Medicine.

It is the first in the private healthcare sector for Saudi Arabia. HMG organised the first MRCPI exams in Rayan Hospital in Riyadh.

The move to conduct regular exams, comes after signing a mutual cooperation agreement between the Academic Affairs Department in the group and the he Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

Based on the agreement, HMG will organise the final exams for MRCPI.

Through this agreement, Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group aims to develop the performance of the healthcare practitioners and enrich the quality of their services in addition to creating new opportunities in the filed of medical education in compliance with Saudi Vision 2030.

Dr. Awad Al Omari, associate vice president of academic affairs at Dr. Suliman Al Habib Medical Group, said: “The group’s vision, since its establishment considers continuous medical education an integral part of its goals and activities. During the last years the group has organised many scientific conferences and workshops both on the international and local levels aiming at developing the quality of our healthcare services for our patients”.

He added: “The Academic Affairs Department has accumulated experience in the field of training and education and achieved successive successes. The department has also signed cooperation agreements with many international universities and institutions to create the best educational atmosphere according to the highest international criteria”.

Dr. Mogbil Al Hudaithi the Medical Director of Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Rayan Hospital said: “Internal Medicine Consultant Dr. Salah Al Shafie was appointed to head the organizing committee for this MRCPI exam. We have received 40 applications from male and female physicians from inside and outside Saudi Arabia to take this exam, while we have appointed 10 consultant examiners who are accredited for running this exam from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.”

He concluded that the group will continue to organize the MRCPI exams in many other specialties and fellowships as he wished the best of luck for all examinees.
