Abu Dhabi: Saudi Arabia has allowed limited in-person graduation ceremonies at schools and universities amid strict COVID-19 protocol, the Ministry of Education said on Monday.

The approved protocol stipulates that only vaccinated graduates and invitees are allowed to attend the ceremonies, that only a maximum of two family members of a graduate can attend, and that the graduates are honoured through a special track, so that mixing with invitees is avoided.

The instructions include showing the Tawakkalna application, that invitations be electronic, and ceremonies should not exceed half an hour.

The protocol also provides for constantly alerting attendees, graduates, workers and those in charge of ceremonies of the importance of adhering to safety guidelines, including masks, social distancing and other precautions.
