Since the start of Ramadan, service has already provided medical assistance to 91 cases
Dubai: The Medina Health Cluster has launched an ambulance scooter service at the Prophet’s Mosque, allowing paramedics to navigate through large crowds and provide urgent care to worshippers in need.
The initiative, introduced for Ramadan 2025, is designed to enhance emergency medical response during Ramadan, improve the speed and efficiency of emergency interventions within the mosque’s courtyards, where dense foot traffic often poses challenges for traditional ambulance access.
Ambulance scooters enable medical teams to maneuver through crowded areas, reaching individuals in distress quickly. Patients receive immediate stabilization before being transferred to nearby healthcare facilities for further treatment.
Since its launch at the start of Ramadan, the service has already provided medical assistance to 91 cases, with patients requiring further care being transferred to hospitals and urgent care centers in the central region.
These include Al Salam Endowment Hospital, Al Haram Hospital, and medical centers at Al Safiya and Bab Jibril, the health cluster confirmed.
