Dubai: Qatar has announced a nine-day holiday for Eid Al Fitr, granting public sector employees an extended break following a month of fasting.

According to the Amiri Diwan, the Eid holiday for ministries, government agencies, and public institutions will begin on Sunday, March 30, and continue through Monday, April 7, 2025. Work will resume on Tuesday, April 8.

In preparation for the occasion, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has confirmed that 690 mosques and open-air prayer grounds across the country are ready to host Eid Al Fitr prayers. The prayer will take place at 5:43am on the first day of Eid.

To celebrate Eid, Qatar has also announced a series of public events and entertainment activities, including fireworks displays at several key locations. These visual spectacles will illuminate the skies over Doha and other cities, bringing families and visitors together in celebration.

Among the confirmed venues, Al Bidda Park and Al Wakra Old Souq will host fireworks at 8:00pm each night from the first day of Eid for four consecutive days. Additionally, Lusail Boulevard will feature a music-synchronized fireworks show as part of the Lusail Sky Festival, running from April 3 to 5 at Al Saad Plaza between 4:00pm and 10:00pm.
