It will pump water from any open water to supply fire fighters
Doha: Civil Defence in cooperation with Pearl-Qatar conducted training sessions for staff in the use of advanced mobile water supply systems as part of its commitment to safety and security on the island, according to Qatar’s daily Al Arab.
High-ranking officials from the Civil Defence took part in the drill alongside teams from Glitter and the Shield, both subsidiaries of United Development Company (UDC), main developer of The Pearl-Qatar.
The advanced equipment includes two Mercedes Axor hook arm trucks, a HydroSub 900, Powerfoam and portable water supply equipment and power supply. It will pump water from any open water to supply fire fighters.
“This system is ideal for fire-fighting in water-bound environment like The Pearl-Qatar,” Brigadier Abdullah Mohammad Al Suwaidi from Civil Defence said.
Such systems can supply thousands of litres of water to the fire fighters to help them contain any fire.
Two fire engines and water supply system are stationed in the Pearl-Qatar in case of a fire.
