Muscat: A two-day holiday to mark Oman’s 43rd National Day was announced on Wednesday. Khalid Bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and Chairman of the Board of Civil Services, declared holidays on November 27 and 28 for all the Civil Service organisations.
The National Day holiday is followed by the weekend thus all the government offices will reopen for work on December 1.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Manpower, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Bakri, announced that the National Day holiday for the private sector employees will be on November 27 and 28 and work will resume on December 1 after the weekend, thus giving four-day break to the employees in the private sector in the country.
However, employers can ask their employees to report for work if they are needed but must give employees compensatory offs at a later date.
