Dubai: Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman has issued a royal pardon for the release of 645 inmates from various nationalities, in a compassionate gesture marking the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

The pardoned inmates include both Omani citizens and foreign nationals who had been convicted in a range of cases.

The noble gesture reflects Sultan Haitham’s deep commitment to humanitarian values and his keenness to bring joy and relief to the families of the inmates during this blessed occasion.

The royal pardon underscores the spirit of compassion and forgiveness that characterises the Sultanate’s leadership, particularly during times of religious and national significance.

The pardoned expatriate inmates will be deported upon the completion of all necessary legal procedures.
