Muscat: A special committee, comprising elected Majlis Asshura members, has been formed for evaluating the latest status of Omani job seekers.

The Shura Chairman, Shaikh Khalid Bin Hilal Al Maawali, will head the committee to study availability of employment in government as well as private sector in accordance with the qualification of the unemployed citizens.

The committee has been empowered to interact with officials as well as specialists in respective fields during their evaluation.

The committee will submit its report to the 84-member Shura for further discussion.

Meanwhile, the Civil Service Council has revealed that more than 140,000 employees work for civil service units.
 
The Council reviewed the status of appointments at civil service units in response to the Royal orders for employment.

At the same time the recruitment of Omani citizens in private sector continues with Haya employing 100 new Omani nationals in response to the Royal orders for providing 50,000 new jobs for Omanis across the nation.
