Muscat: Oman Arab Cinema Company has added a third cinema hall to its City Cinema in Ruwi, which largely screens Bollywood movies.

City Cinema Hall 3 was thrown open to audiences at the start of the Eid holiday, helping alleviate the runaway demand for seats from Bollywood film enthusiasts.

According to P. Chandrasekhar, Group General Manager, Jawad Sultan Group of Companies, the cinema hall was put into service after an extensive three-month-long upgrade that has led to a complete transformation of the modest-sized venue.

Designed originally to seat 52 guests, the seating configuration has now been revamped to accommodate only 25 seats.

Guests can now watch shows in laidback comfort with ample legroom and spacious surroundings.

Also as part of the renovation, a new screen has been added along with a new 5.1 channel sound system that delivers a “home theatre entertainment” experience amid the hall’s intimate and cozy settings.

Tthe hall has also been equipped to screen movies in 3D. With the addition of a third cinema hall, the City Cinema Ruwi multiplex has screen up to 13 shows on a given day.
