Muscat: Saeed Thuwaini Bin Shihab Al Saeed, the Special Representative of Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed of Oman, passed away on Sunday, according to an announcement by the Diwan of Royal Court.
The senior-most member of the royal family was ailing for sometime, but no details were available.
The state will also observe a three-day mourning and flags are already flying at half mast.
