Indian talked out of suicide bid in Oman

People who gathered at the scene were able to convince the man not to jump off the building

Muscat: Personnel at the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) successfully prevented an Indian worker from jumping off a building in Buraimi province on Sunday when he tried to end his life.

It took them more than one hour to convince him to give up.

Some nationals and expatriates gathered in the areas tried to save the worker.

Reasons behind his attempt to commit suicide are unclear.

In 2014, Oman police saved a 22 year-old Omani national when he tried to jump off Al Khoudh Bridge, north of the capital Muscat.

The young Omani tried to commit suicide as he lost his job at an electronics company and had accumulated debts from recent purchases.
