Dubai: The overall tally of COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar has shoot up to 868,719, while total deaths have risen to 9,123, on Sunday.

Oman

The Sultanate today confirmed the detection of 648 new coronavirus cases and five deaths, bringing the country’s total infections to 127,667 and fatality tally to 1,488. Over the past 24 hours, 565 people have fully recovered, pushing total recoveries to 119,574, according to the latest update by the Ministry of Health.

The ministry urged everyone to adhere to social distancing protocols and precautionary measures in place to stem the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kuwait

Kuwait today reported 204 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of confirmed infections to 147,979. Three people succumbed to the infection over the past 24 hours, raising total deaths to 921, the Ministry of Health said in its latest update.

Some 285 patients have fully recovered, shooting up total recoveries to 143,926.

The active cases have fallen to 3,132, including 60 that are critical under intensive care treatment.

Bahrain

Bahrain today registered a slight increase in daily reported cases as a further 179 people have tested positive, bringing the total confirmed cases in the Kingdom to 90,062.

Out of the new cases, 105 are expatriate workers, 54 people infected with the virus after contacting active cases, and 20 are travel related. No new deaths were reported over the past 24 hours, keeping fatality tally at 349.

There were 175 fresh recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 88,178. The active cases have dropped to 1,535, including 1,526 that are stable, while 30 cases are still under treatment and nine are critical under intensive care.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia today reported 162 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 361,010.

According to the latest update by the Ministry of Health, 10 deaths were reported over the past 24 hours, bringing total fatalities to 6,122. A further 156 new recoveries were registered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people recovered from the virus to 351,878, with the recovery rate hitting 97.47 per cent.

The active cases have declined to 3,010, out of which 416 that are critical under intensive care.

Qatar

The Ministry of Public Health today recorded 143 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total infections in Qatar to 142,001.

No new fatalities were reported over the past 24 hours, keeping fatality tally at 243.

According to the ministry’s latest update on Sunday, a further 203 patients have fully recovered, pushing the total number of people recovered from the virus across the country to 139,724. Active cases have now touched 2,034, including 216 that are stable under treatment, and 22 are critical under intensive care.
