One of victims is burnt to death when vehicle caught fire after the collision

Muscat: Three people, including two nationals, were killed in two road accidents on Friday.

In the first accident two Omanis were killed in a head-on collision between two vehicles in Ibri province on Friday night, an official at the Royal Oman Police (ROP), told Gulf News.

One of them was burnt to death when the vehicle caught fire after the collision while the other died on the way to hospital.

In another accident, one person was killed and two others sustained severe injuries in Sur province.

According ROP figures, 913 persons have died and 10,802 injured in 7,829 road accidents in 2013, while 1,139 were killed and 11,618 injured in 8,209 road accidents in 2012.
