Kuwaiti newspaper suspended for two weeks

Al Dar rejects charge of formenting sectarianism through reports of Gulf protests

Last updated:

Manama: A Kuwaiti newspaper has been suspended for another two weeks for "breaking the publishing laws."

The ruling is the second against Al Dar after it was also suspended for another two weeks earlier this month following a lawsuit by the information ministry, the Al Aan news site reported on Monday.

The Arabic language newspaper last year waded into controversy with the authorities over its coverage of events unfolding in Kuwait and the Gulf amid charges that it was fomenting sectarianism.

The newspaper has rejected the charges.
