The spouses who accompany their wives appointed in Kuwait's embassies, consulates and diplomatic missions are currently given only half of what they receive in Kuwait
Manama: A proposal to give the husbands of Kuwaiti female diplomats assigned abroad a full salary has been approved by the parliamentary legislative committee.
The approval of the committee, announced by its chairman MP Husain Al Huraiti, will put an end to heated debates in Kuwait about the limited perks offered to the spouses of diplomats living abroad.
The spouses who accompany their wives appointed in Kuwait's embassies, consulates and diplomatic missions are currently given only half of what they receive in Kuwait, a measure that has apparently discouraged many Kuwaiti diplomats from applying for positions abroad.
