Cairo: Kuwait Friday confirmed 590 new cases of the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours, with an increase of 38 cases against the number of infections reported the day before, taking the country’s overall infections to 102,441.

Three more deaths from COVID-19 have been recorded, raising Kuwait’s fatality tally due to the disease to 595, the Health Ministry’s spokesman Dr Abdullah Al Sanad said in an update.

There are 111 patients receiving intensive care treatment, he added, according to the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.

Kuwait’s total virus tests have reached 729,755 after 4,730 tests have been done over the past 24 hours.

The Health Ministry said that the overall recoveries in Kuwait have risen to 93,562 after 601 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
